Zoë Jewell moved from veterinary medicine into conservation biology and, with Sky Alibhai, co-founded WildTrack to advance non-invasive methods for monitoring endangered species. She leads the integration of traditional ecological knowledge with cutting-edge data science, building global collaborations that protect wildlife while optimising their welfare and those of the communities who share these landscapes. Adjunct Professor at Duke University and Associate Academic of the Centre for Compassionate Conservation, University of Technology Sydney.

Sky Alibhai is a wildlife biologist and data scientist with decades of field experience across Africa and beyond. As co-founder of WildTrack, he pioneered footprint-based monitoring techniques and now focuses on developing robust analytical and AI tools that turn animal tracks into reliable, scalable conservation intelligence. Adjunct Professor at Duke University and Associate Academic of the Centre for Compassionate Conservation, University of Technology Sydney.
“When we learn to read footprints, we see that every animal is already telling us who they are and what they need. Our job isn't to control the wild, but to observe carefully enough to protect it.”— Zoë Jewell & Sky Alibhai
